Default HFA install best pratice

I am running three CP firewalls (Secure Platform), two appliances and one server.
They are all running R65 (early build)

What is the best way of installing hotfixes?
Is a reboot required?

Thanks
Nick

Well it does depend on the platform, but usually:

1 - Check requirements
2 - Backup configurations
3 - Apply any OS patches that might be required
4 - Apply HFA

You should upgrade the SmartCenter first and after that the firewall modules, probably starting with the least critical.

HFA require the firewall services to stop and might require a reboot.

technick22,

The release notes that accompany the hotfix are 'generally' good. I rely on them primarily as a method of determining best practice for installation. They cover reboot/no reboot etc
