Default Fresh Installation & NO Products

Hi!

I've installed SPLAT R61 and after the reboot I've started sysconfig for the first setup of the FW.
Everything looked good but... I was not asked to install any product (smartcenter, enforcement module, etc.) at the end just only SVN was installed. Starting CPconfig I can just only enter/change LIC, SIC or RandomKey.

Any idea??????

I will try now to install the product manually(rpm) ...but I'm interested to know why the first setup wizard has forgotten to ask me for the products.

Thanks!
Maurizio

Did SPLAT identify your Network cards properly?

[You didn't say that wanted to import from file originally did you and then selected new installation afterwards?]

-> Sorry I don't understand the question.

[Did SPLAT identify your Network cards properly?]

-> I think yes. I'm working with an Intel PRO quad GT. During the installation all four ports has been recognized and I can access SPLAT over the network card.

Thanks for any feedback!

During the sysconfig script after configuring the base platform, routes, interfaces, time etc you select the next and before going to the Check Point Product install then it asks if you want to import the configuration from a TFTP Server.

-> Never used this feature. As described I've made a new installation formatting the HD. After reboot I've started sysconfig, set name & time, typed next by the import conf. option and then just only lic+Sic+RandomPool was asked but not the product type.

I'll bet that SPLAT has only identified one NIC, therefore has installed as a host. Check the number of NICs using ifconfig, you may need to make some manual mods to get it to recognise all the NICs in your machine prior to the install process.

Card was correctly (ethtool -i shows right driver) recognized and the 4ports are up and useable.
In the meantime I've installed the SW over RPM -i and everything seems to be "normal" ...but I've not a good feeling.

Thanks for any feeedback!
