Default Moving or adding another Management Console

Folks,

Right now I have a Nokia FW in my location in the US, and the management station in another country. I have to VNC (I know) to that box to push a policy. In the other country there is also another Nokia FW. We have 3 site-to-site VPN's.

How should I go about planning on having a management station locally here in the US? Here are my base questions:

1.) Can I just add an additional Management station here locally and still leave the one in the other country?

2.) Would I have to move the whole thing over hear instead of over there?

What about versions? Can I just upgrade my Nokia FW checkpoint OS and leave the other one alone? Do I have to pay for an upgrade?

Thanks...BirdDog

It really depends what you are trying to do.

If you just install (and license) another SCS it can only be a backup (Well one has to be a backup the other active).

If you want to split up the management, the easiest way would be to use odumper to export the config to a CSV where you can manipulate then import it to the new SCS.

You will not have to pay for upgrades if you have any level of support, but you will need to pay for SmartCenter
