| Another dumb question perhaps... I'm working in a limited environment, trying to make the best with what I have. Given a dedicated server with three (or four) ethernet interfaces, with SPLAT installed... is it possible to install both the FW enforcement module and the SmartCEnter server on the box, but using different IP addresses? For example, have IP addresses for: * External network * DMZ network * Internal network - FW IP = 192.168.1.1 (for example) * Internal network - SecureCenter IP = 192.168.1.2 (for example) This way, at a future date, the SecureCenter could be migrated off of this hardware, but keep its separate IP address? -Rick |

| Hi well I have tested your scenario in my experience. There is alternative to this. Take the backup of the smartcenter regularly using the upgrade tools of checkpoint to take the backup of the Checkpoint setting also if you want to take the backup of system setting also you can use SPLAT backup utilities. If you face any problem in the smartcenter it will hardly take 10-15 mins to make the system up.So I hope you need not to be in so much complexity. I hope this will clear your doubt. In case you need any help please let me know. Regards ranjit |
