I was trying to export the configuration files from R55 on SPLAT, but couldn't find the NGX version of upgrade_export from Checkpoint site. Does anyone know where the exact place I can get it from? Does it also come with "libstdc++.so.5:" file as well? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance. Henry

Thx guys. I downloaded the whole package from Checkpoint and ran the upgrade_export on R55 SPLAT OK without problems. Now that, when I tried to import the xxx.tgz file to R60 SPLAT, I got this error: fw1/boot/modules/fwkern.conf Error: Failed to read the configuration info of the local machine. I checked the local IP on R60, it's there and correct. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I guess I jumped to a conclussion that may be incorrect. Can you extract the tgz file that you copied to the new server (tar zxvf <file>)? If the extract fails then find a new method of transfering the file, via scp / sftp / winscp. If the extract succeeded....then I'm wondering if the hostname / ip / sysconfig options are exactly the same as the server you took the export from? I'm also interested about the upgrade export package that you downloaded--did you install that package and then run the upgrade_export? Are you sure you ran the R60 version of upgrade_export? What's your output from upgrade_export -v? Last edited by melipla; 2007-04-17 at 09:50.

hi There is no issue with the machine name after taking the backup, it will show you the previous one. Make sure these things that you have downloaded that same version utility as you are using the Checkpoint, then place the backup from other machine in the same directory then just fire the command upgrade_import , followed filename. I hope this will resolve the issue. Regards Ranjit

Other possible causes could be that your import file is "too large" and the recommendation was to remove some of the database revisions (which I did but did not help). HTH |
