Default Problems in understanding setting up SIC etc.

Hi,

until now we only had local managed Checkpoint GWs at different locations, but now are switching to a centralized managed approach, so that all of our GWs in all branch offices can be managed from our central office.

I´ve set up the new Central Checkpoint GW with NGX, the SmartCenter Server is running, too. Now I want to setup the GWs for the branch offices, but I am a little bit confused, as I do not fully understand how I can establish the SIC between the Smartcenter and the newly installed GWs. Same Activation Key on both side, understood, but how do I tell the GW in the branch office the Activation Key? Via the Policy? But to push the policy on the remote GW, I already need the SIC to be established?

So how can I establish SIC between the SmartCenter and the remote GW?

Thanks in advance,

Helge

P.S.: Sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand it nevertheless.

SIC is discussed in detail in the Checkpoint_R61_Smartcenter_UserGuide.pdf (this can be downloaded from Checkpoint). There is a section on SIC on P22 - P25. Probably best if you have a browse through this as it explains everything in detail.

There's a cpconfig program on the gateways as well.
