Default Speed Issues

Hello All,

I have replaced a windows based module using NG FP3 with a windows based module running NGXR60 HFA04 (same hardware, just blew it away).

One interface is connected to our internal lan, the other is directly connected to a netware server.

One department (accounts) logs into this server and it takes a long time to log in, one user profile is about 60meg, so not massive, and it takes her 15 mins to log in !.

I have made sure that all nics are running 100 Full Duplex.

What else can I do/check ?.

Apparently this wasn't an issue with NG FP3. I have seen comments about slow file transfers using NGXR60.

Any thoughts welcomed

Cheers,

George

You've checked all your interfaces are at 100/full, but what about on the switch side? Are you seeing any errors on any interfaces, or switchports?

Hi Northlandboy,

I hope you are well. Yeah, cheers. Network guys telling me switch is set to 100 full, when it wasn't, it was set to auto and it's a 3com, so it auto'ed to half duplex. Grrrrrrr

Ta,

George

Ah well, all's well that ends up well. At least the simple things like that are easy to fix.

Would have been worse if you had decided to roll back, and still had the problem...
