Hi, I have a distributed instalation of Checkpoint wiht 1 management and 1 gateway module. I made an upgrade from NGR55 to NGXR60. All procedures completed successfully, but after upgrade we cannot use Smartview monitor. I recieve a message when try to install the policy with the following test: No sufficient licenses installed for SmartView Monitor monitors modules. ...Please uncheck it from your gateways I made another new instalation of R55 and tried to upgrade, but again I received the same result. No sufficient license. In the R55 this SmartView Monitor worked fine. The license upgrade proceeded successfully. I haven't idea where is the problem.

If update proceeded successfully it's good. But, pls, check by SmartUpdate which licenses attach to module and which to smartcenter.

On management server is attached the new license for NGX. THe old one is marked as obsolete. My license is CPVP-VCT ( enterprise solution with SmartCenter Enterprise). With this license I was able to use SmartView monitor on R55 NG.

attach monitor license to ur gateway

No it doesn't work. I wait CP to tell me what is the problem. I am afraid that it is my license, because I have SmartCenter Enterprise license(not PRO). So may be there is a bug in NGR55 and older versions, which allow to use smartview monitor to monitor traffic and connections. If it is so , I will try to downgrade to R55. :( This tool is very convinient to me.

If you're a Check Point partner, generate a 'quick eval' license and attach it. this will solve the issue and will enable all the other features too. It will at least give you some time to find the real answer. It may be that your license needs to be 'split' into separate components - check point are the only people who can do this. If you aren't a partner, ask your supplier to generate the license for you.

I've experienced the same issue when upgrading from NGR55 to NGXR60. Somehow R55 allowed us to use Smartview Monitor without actually having an valid license for Smartview Monitor. After upgrading I of course complained to our reseller about the lost functionality i NGX60 and was told that we had to purchase an additional license for Smartview Monitor (which is quite expensive since it can no longer by purchased as a "stand alone" product)

SmartView Monitor was included with SmartCenter Pro in FP3, and it kept working when we went to R55. Do you have SmartCenter Pro or something else? Ray

Better give us new NGX license. New SmartCenter Power includes Monitor license. UTM SmartCenter doesn't include Monitor license on default. And SmartCenter Enterprise license might be upgrade to Power, I think.
