Default Internal Network failing to browse the Internet

I need help guys. I have installed NG AI R55 on a windows 2000 server SP4.

My network is a very simple and staright forward, about 100 hosts, no web servers e.t.c I have created a rule that allows my LAN to go to the internet. On the LAN object under NAT I have enabled hide behind gateway.

My rule looks like:
Source Destination Service VPN Action
LAN ANY http any Accept

I have enabled http next proxy to point to my ISP's Proxy Server and the hosts in the LAN use IE6 and I have defined the Inside IP address of the Firewall as the proxy in IE6.

Iam getting "page cannot be displayed error" on checking the SmartView Tracker I see green i.e. Action has been permitted and nothing more

But interestingly if I use User authentication after creating some users and a group that I allow with the following rule we are able to access the internet.

Where am I missing it????

Source Destination Service VPN Action
InternetUsers ANY http any User Auth

All the tings you described do not tell us what do you want to achieve. What is the business goals? Looks like you a trying to do a simple thing in a wrong way.
