I can't find anything on this one...evaluating NGX R60 on Solaris 10. Test box is a sunblade 100 with 1 eri0 interface and a fast ethernet quad card. System is patched with the latest recommended patches and interfaces are up and running. NGX installs without any complaints and I was able to run cpconfig, then comes the issue...after rebooting I see the FW driver load and then solaris starts complaing about eri0 being misconfigured and the svc:/system/network-physical fails with exit 96. The system freezes at this point. I noticed during the install Checkpoint mentioned it was hardening the interfaces. I am not sure what or how it did that, but I suspect that is related to my problem. I booted off the cd into single user and mounted the root partition. All of the iterface files (ipnodes, hosts, hostname.xxx) all seem good. Anyone have any thoughts on how I can get around this. Or possibly how to disable the Checkpoint software so I can boot (and pkgrm CP). So far I have 2 cases open, one with Checkpoint and one with Sun. I'll post any suggestions they have. Thanx!

Yes I downloaded the file called "NGX R60 VPN-1 Pro/Express package for Solaris 10". This gave me the file fw1_591000462_1.tgz. The release notes say to do a pkgadd. Exactly what I did. Checkpoint finally thinks there may be a problem with that package. No word yet on how to fix it.

Hi two things I have to do on my sun boxes (Solaris 9) 1) make sure that eri is uncommented in the /etc/fw/boot/ifdev and looks like eri accept I have added the line set nautopush=64 to the bottom of /etc/system (will require a reboot) this allocates some more stream resources to stop the "failed to push over interface blah blah blah" error message cheers Sean
