SecuRemote client install problem (R56)

I've tried to install the SecuRemote client several times now on my windows XP machine (SP1). I've even tried the uninstall then CPClean. I notice the SR_Service won't stay started. And I don't have the key icon in the systray and upon running the GUI (SR_GUI.exe), it APPEARS to run (shows up in the processes list) but I can't see it... I also notice that the VPN-SecureClient Adaptor is disabled and I can't enable it.

Interestingly enough, I ALSO can't get it to install on other Windows XP machines (SP1) nor can I get it to install on a Windows 2000 server. On THAT machine, I get:

It appears to be mocking me... Anyone have any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.

Additional Info:
Just determined that the service DOES start no the win2000 machine, although GUI does exactly the same (apparently starts, but you can't see it...).

I am using terminal services to access this box (if that's helpful).
