Default Installing on 2003 R2

I've been having problems getting NGX 61 to work properly on Win 2003 R2. I can get it to work fine on W2K no problems. This is a clean build too & not an upgrade.

Are there any know issues with NGX 61 working with R2? I can't use SPLAT on the hardware I have is not yet supported. :(

ReleaseNotes for R61 doesn't have information about supporting win2k3 R2. But that mean is nothing.
What kind of problems do you have?

Thanks for the quick reply :) Nothing seems to be routing. I can ping the north (Internet) facing card fine from an internal machine fine. But when I try & do anything internet releated (browse web, ping, DNS lookup etc...) nothing gets out.

I thinks this is an R2 issue & not a checkpoint problem. When W2K is running on the same box it's fine.

I just got through doing an upgrade from R60 on Server 2k3 SP1 R2 Firewall/Management on the same box to R61 on Server 2k3 SP1 R2 with 2 firewalls (active/standby) configuration and a seperate management box. The only problem i had with the firewalls was I forgot to turn on Routing and Remote Access on both. Kinda hard to pass packets that way. Other than that, no real issues with R6x on Server 2k3 SP1 R2.

Traditionally, I've never turned on RRAS as I suspect that enables a bunch of other things. I've always just turned on the bit in the registry to enable the internal IP router. Check MS KnowledgeBase for the registry key.

Thanks for that tidbit of info. Will look into it. Everyone I've talked to say I'm crazy for running my firewalls on Window$, but since I don't speak *nix all that well, I go with what I know.
