Default Problem: "SecuRemote failed to start due an internal error"

Hi!
I'm newbie to checkpoint-fw and just want to install/run the SecuRemote-Client on my Acer5670-notebook (behind a Neatgear FWG-114P) on XPSP2

1. SecuRemote-Setup (SC_NGX_R60_HFA1_598001019.exe) can't reboot Windows because a cmd-box is running "bin\conn_config.exe" hangs.

2. (After manually killing the cmd-process)
When SR_Watchdog starts the SR_Service i receive: "SecuRemote failed to start due an internal error"

any idea? please help!

After killing that process, did you reboot Windows?

thanks for an answer:

yes I rebooted the machine.

i already have tried to deinstall - install (for 4 times!) no success.
the setup "hangs" 5-10 minutes, when it installs "kernel"-stuff.
(on my old laptop the setup of ngx takes 3min overall)

maybe my network-stack is dirty (after former deinstallation of the old securemote-client (that worked!) and "outpost"-firewall), or the acer-network-winxp-driver is "special"

Try running cpclean and then reinstalling. cpclean will remove all checkpoint from the PC including the registry, in case there is a problem in there. you can get cpclean from the CP website.
