Can somebody tell me how to delete a package completely so that it can be installed as a new package again ? Here is the background. We have a Nokia IP330 with R55 installed but never run or activated being an RMA unit we just received. I have upgraded the IPSO as recommended for R60. I originally installed the R60 as new package and VPN-1 Pro gateway without problem. I later changed my mind and was going to take it out and installed it as Express. I removed the package via Nokia Voyager then it would not let me install R60 as new package again. Now I do not see any R60 package in Voyager and the install failed when I tried to install it as new package and I cannot do a 'Upgrade from an old package' either since I do not see any R60 package left. There are no CP commands available at all. Are there any other files that I need to delete in order to do a clean install as new package ? Thanks for helping a newbie.

If it's not in Voyager then it should be uninstalled. To make sure, run the following command at the command line of the Nokia. dbget -v dynamic:pkgadd This will list all of the packages that it thinks is running on the appliance. If there is a 't' at the end of the line then it thinks that it's running currently. If it shows up in this list but it's not in Voyager then it didn't uninstall fully. i.e. dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/ISS t dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/xxxx t Now it is obvious that "/opt/xxxx" does not exist but it thinks it's running. To remove it from this list then you can run the following commands. dbset dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/xxxx dbset :save This should delete the entry. If you are not sure on which package should or shouldn't be there, just post the results of the dbget -v dynamic:pkgadd in here and I'll help.

Hi Lackie, Here is a display of what the packages are installed, [admin]# dbget -v dynamic:pkgadd dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPFireWall-1BC-41-00 dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPdtps-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPfg1-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPfw1-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPinfo-10 t dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPinfo-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPrt-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPrtm-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPshared-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPuag-R55p dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/LunaVPN dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/nic-doc381 Looks like "dynamic:pkgadd:/opt/CPinfo-10 t" is the one. Strange thing is I thought this was part of the original R55 package. Is this the one that is causing the NEW package install to fail ? Thanks.

I think it gets installed at the same time as NGX but it's a different package. If you can see it in Voyager you can turn it off and remove it. Last edited by Lackie; 2006-04-11 at 07:06.
