I was told that some colleagues could install NGX SPLAT in VMWare. I have not tested that yet, but I succed installing NGX into Qemu, and Opensource VM. Procedure is quite simple and you only have to mount CD into VM and run it there. Hope you can installa VM. Cheers,

I use vmware with splat. Create a Linux generic virtual machine with 128 mb ram , with 3 or more ethernet (so you can simulate a lan). Put all ethernets in a virtual lan. install the first cd with splat and configure the interfaces of your virtual lan. after, create some other virtual machines with windows to put on the virtual lan so you can simulate the traffic. from the second cd install the smartdashboard on some of your windows virtual machines so you can controll the splat. It's simple. dont use the image from vmware , is better to install the system from zero. (half hour of time) the trial is for 15 days, but i use it on a notebook and i put the same date every day so dont goes down after the 15 dayz Ciao

Hi, I´ve also installed VPN1-Pro using VMWare. The most important recommendation and the point where you get error messages when installing is hard disk space. Configure at least 8 GB for the virtual machine.

Sorry for asking a obvious question, is it possible to install and configure a firewall using VMware? ie install Solaris 9 as os and then install CP on top....once configured push it out to a server for testing an then into production? do i have to make changes to compensate for different platforms...Nokia, Crossbeam, HP etc etc? __________________ I used to think a firewall was a borken router but now i know thats its a hub!

I tried to connect two vmware stations (each with splat and windows GUI) via VPN. Sometimes it works I, sometimes I got local spoofing messages. Did you test such configuration ? Thanks |
