It takes some hundred MBytes, it's not good idea to send it by mail.
For downloading you need only to complete registration form. Also you can create your own vmware SPLAT machine without any problem.

Ah, OK!
I'll try to create my own VM. After I'll talk about my progress.
Thanks kva.kva!

you might have some problems buliding a splat vmware image. i've found if the progress indicator hangs at about 18-19% then its going to crash.

the options i've found to work are...
define a legacy virtual machine
other 2.6.x linux kernel
256m memory
8gb hard disk space (IDE)

It's not an exact science but this worked for me last time when i built an R60 secureplatform image

well to be completely honest... the settings I got to work were completely random! I'd tried for hours to make one work and they all seemed to randomly crash and fail miserably!
But when I finally got one that worked I scribbled down the settings and burnt a copy of it and tucked it away in a safe place :)

If you want stability - you need to have enough RAM.

Using vmware you could install SPLAT using 96Mb RAM, it will crash only if you setup a harddrive shorter than 8Gb, but is dynamically assigned (Vmware Rulez) is not a problem.

Not 8, just a little more 4. If you create disk with exactly 4 Gb hdd, may be it will be problem may be no (i had two virtual server with 4 Gb hdd, on one SPLAT installed on another - no). So I use 5 Gb hdd for SPLAT Enforcement module without problems.

I have the same problem ie cannot download virtual machine splat from checkpoint. As it's too large to e-mail can anyone put it on an FTP server so we can download?

Thanks,

Jon

Sorry to join in the chorus on this but I'm also unable to download this directly from checkpoint, any chance someone can make it available elsewhere?
Many Thanks.

+++ Update +++

Scrub that, using a different connection I have been able to download the vmware image. ~470 Mb. or perhaps they fixed the site???

The url for direct download appaers to be http://www.opsec.com/forms/vmware_sp_ty.html ...

Hi all,

i have just create a VM iso with R65 (no HFA sorry).
This is a fresh install with French Kbd for some test with eventia and maybe more.

Basicly what i have done:
I used as hardrive the *.vdk from secure plateform R60, create the vm in a new directory and i boot on the CD R65.
My setting are:
linux 2.4.x kernel
256 RAM
8 g

then i edit the *.vmx file to be used with the renamed hardrive in *R65* something with the good directory path.

Not really proper but i had no time to search more.
And it's seems to work.

I just managed to get SPALT intalled as a VM using the R65 CD.
8GB of HDD and the reset as standard did the trick for me.

Good luck.
