| as far as i know there isn't one, as you supply one during the initial config. if you don't know the password, there is a way you can reset it if you have psychical console access |

| Thanks for the info. I set up an admin userid and password and can get in that way. However, I need to back up the $FWDIR/conf and lib directories. I can't see these directories under admin. so I thought I would try logging on as root. When I ssh directly into the Nokia, it prompts me for the root password (which I did not change during installation). Any suggestions on what files to back up and how to access these files (I am not running SPLAT). |

| There is no root password. You log in as admin. I don't understand why you are saying you can't see those directories as admin. What do you see if you do ls /opt ? And rather than doing backups that way, why not just use the Voyager backup, and include the option to backup Check Point data? |
