Default SmartDashboard versions - One that does it all

I dont know about most other people, but I think have every version ever of SmartDashboard tools installed. Why dont they just include the functionality to manage all versions from the most recent client? (a la tippingpoint SMS client). Might make it bigger, but sure would make my life easier. (error: wrong version, guess again).

And while I am venting, the ability to switch from readonly mode to readwrite without exitting and restarting would be nice.

Oh, and speaking of readonly mode, has anybody notice that the scroll bar in the topology window does not work in readonly mode (r60). I just wanna LOOK at the data!

thats all my suggestions/venting for now.

Shawn Lukaschuk.

I agree, the read-only mode could use some improvements as there are properties you cannot access. Having one version for everything would be nice. IE there's a divergent "Smartview Tracker" path for Eventia Analyzer and for SmartDashboard. It was painful to keep clicking on the wrong Tracker and not know it until you realize you can't filter (or that your filter returned 0 logs).

I'd like to see improvements with SmartMap, it's slow & painful to connect objects. I'd like to see SmartMap understand VPN tunnels. I'd like to see it be dynamic enough to automatically add / remove Remote Access users and to know the difference between SecuRemote clients / Secure Clients / UserAuth users / ClientAuth users. Dyanmic to the point that when a VPN tunnel goes down it can flash red and tell me. :)

For SmartDashboard -- I'd like to see a rulebase trace. Instead of reading every rule, I'd like to find what rule matches when I "access Host A via Host B on port X". Minor, but neat feature.

I'd also like to see faster policy compile / install times. :)

For the Tracker, a "copy filter" would be nice. When you've got the Destination Host IP, Internal IP, External IP, Office Mode IP, +NAT IP of a host object filter in place for the Source field, sometimes it'd be nice to copy that to the destination field. Filter history would be nice (kind of like Photoshop's "undo log"). Also, there's something inherently wrong with "Follow <x>".

Improved log filtering. Sometimes when I apply a filter it can take ages. I know this is probably dependent upon disk / # of logs, but the more complex filters seem to take a while.

I'd also like a new SmartDashbord tab called "VPN Routing", which would be a gui representation of the vpn_routes.conf file.

Hop on the gui routing bandwagon open an RFE (http://www.checkpoint.com/jsp/rfe/rfe.jsp). The more the merrier. I want to control ALL routing from dashboard!
