FYI I don't think its called "Smartview Reporter". Now-a-days its either "Smartview Monitor" or "Eventia Reporter" [two different applications]. I'm assuming you're refering to Eventia Reporter. Access the console and run sysconfig -> 10) Products Installation -> Accept License -> Next -> You may get an error at this point about needing to stop the management server. If so you'll have to exit out and stop it, and go back through the previous steps. In the end a list of CP components that you can install should appear, with the smartcenter already selected. At this point you can select additional components to install and click Next, just like you were doing it for the first time. As an FYI I have had problems with Eventia Analyzer being installed on the same machine as the management server.

As stated above, I agree it is a really bad idea to install on the SCS (personal experience). If the SCS is HA, do not do this at all unless you have a license for both of your SCS servers or it will break the sync between SCS and your DB will NOT replicate. __________________ There's no place like 127.0.0.1

It's the add-on for smartview monitor - Traffic & counters, the documents that I've found refer to it as smartview reporter. We also have Eventia Reporter different product?

SMARTView Reporter is now known as the Eventia Reporter, if your document refers to SMARTView Reporter then is old and out of date. The best way to install is off the CD, or if SPLAT then through the sysconfig menu. If it is on the SMARTCenter Server then just install and reboot afterwards.

If you want to add traffic and counters to smartview monitor, do you just need to allocate the license and then click the smartview monitor box on the smartcentre object? Thanks Lee

I don't think you need a specific license any more [ie its included in the new VPN-1 Power license]. You just need to check the box and push the policy.

In actual fact, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get SmartView Monitor as a Standalone license any more. AFAIK, it's the only management add-on you can't buy as a standalone license. So unless you buy either SmartCenter Power or Eventia Reporter/Suite, you're outta luck.
