Default Smartview Reporter R55 upgrade warning

I have Smartview reporter on R55. Anyway I put in the R62 CD and run the preinstallation check before upgrade export. It tells me Smartview reporter is not upgradable I say continue anyway then it fails to run upgrade export. So fine I remove smartview reporter and copy over the log files to create new empty ones and presto it runs upgrade export and gives me my export file.

Well I am just testing. Well the next day I go back to access the dashboard and the smart console server is completely broke. Comes back with "can't connect to 127.0.0.1 make sure the service is running" Well fortunately my smart center server is a HP DL360 with mirrored drives. I pulled one just before I removed smartview reporter so I put it in and boot and I am back running. I check the logs and all I have is entries for the firewall trying to connect to the mangement server, no traffic and I checked the logs where not updated on the other drives. That confirmed my suspicion it was broken.
Almost like the SIC got hosed. Comments

1. I am disapointed that just removing smartview reporter broke my smart console server and that the upgrade export could not deal with smartview reporter being installed.

2. I lost log data which according to everything I ever read says it was not suppose to do that.

3. I can't find anything documenting any of these behaviors.

Were you running Reporter R55 or R56? R55 uses that Solid database while R56 uses MySQL. There is no way to upgrade from Reporter R55 to Reporter R56 or later due to the differences in the databases.

I have no ideas as to why it would mess up SmartConsole entirely, though. Good move on pulling one of the mirror drives first. Whenever I do an upgrade on my IP530, I break the mirror first for the same reason.

Eventia Reporter is. Eventia Analyzer is SQLite for R63 and R65.

Database to merge sometime in the future.
