We have recently performed an upgrade of a Nokia IP 330\Checkpoint R55 to Nokia IP390\Checkpoint R62 with a stand alone reporting server. However, when we attempt to run reports, we receive the following error "cannot generate report. error in saveobject. Object contain invalid reference". Has anyone seen this or know how to get past it??

Don't think this is a supported configuration. On Nokia IPSO platforms, Eventia Reporter is only supported as a Management Add-on, and only on disk-based platforms. http://www.checkpoint.com/ngx/upgrad...ments/r62.html

Well I have come across this problem also and i run a regular Intel P4 1Ghz 512Mb RAM using SecurePlatform so I doubt it has much to do with the fact that it is a Nokia! The problem occurred after upgrading from R61 (where it was working fine) to R62 where I am now receiving this error. If you have any better ideas as to the problem that would be useful. Many thanks, Matt

I experienced the same issue when upgrading from R60 to R62. This is caused by a corruption of one of the reporting_*.C files in the $FWDIR/conf directory of the mgmt server. Run cpstop, backup your config using upgrade_export (just in case). Make a copy of the $FWDIR/conf directory and then copy all files from $FWDIR/conf/reporting/obj to the $FWDIR/conf directory. Run cprestart. Keep in mind that you will lose any custom reports you created. HTH Scott Last edited by sknights; 2007-03-16 at 13:40.
