| Hi Guys, I am having problem using the Eventia Reporter GUI to connect to the Eventia Reporter Server. I have previously installed this module in the HQ unit as advised. I have followed the wizard to install and after the installation was done, I have rebooted the checkpoint. But the problem is, I could not use the Eventia Reporter GUI. When I try to connect, I am given this error message: “Failed to initialize communication with Eventia Reporter Server. Check that the server is running (172.16.2.250).” We have restarted (cprestart the Checkpoint) to resolve the Eventia Reporter but the problem persists. When I did a cprestart, here is what I saw: smartview monitor : Not active FloodGate-1 is already started SecureXL device is not acitve FloodGate-1 disabling SecureXL Eventia Reporter SmartCentre Add-On running Powerup self test passsed successfully cpstart : Program started SVN Foundation cpstart : Program started VPN-1 cpstart : Program started FloodGate-1 cpstart : Program started SmartView Monitor cpstart : Program started Eventia Reporter cpstart : Program started Edge Embedded connector FYI, the Checkpoint is running on SecureOS using NRX R61. Do we need to uninstall the Eventia Reporter module and reinstall it? If yes, how do I do that because when I go into the module installation section (in command line interface), I can see that SmartView Reporter is “checked” but I cannot “uncheck” it to uninstall it. My Eventia Reporter is a stand-alone installation where the SmartView Reporter and Monitor is installed on the same server as the SmartCenter. Its license is also installed on the SmartCenter. I have also "checked" Eventia Reporter in the Checkpoint Object Properties (using SmartDashboard). I am sure my installation was correct because prior to the production unit installation, I tested the installation in a test unit and it worked fine. I was even able to generate a few reports. Please help me. Thanks. |

you should be in expert mode (type expert) then you can see the file by doing cat $RTDIR/log/SVRServer.log |more or use 'tail' etc depending what you want to see |

| Ok. I tried to access Expert mode, but the system requested a password. I tried using the SecureOS administrator password but it does not work. DO I need a special generated password? |
