failed to get default parameters from server/database

Hi everyone,

I have installed smart center and eventia reporter in the same Pc, but when i try to consolidate logs, always show this error message "failed to get default parameters from server/database" or "failed to get list files log from server/database". I had tried with R60 HFA_01, HFA_03 and R61, but i can't consolidate the logs. I deleted all logs but the error is the same. i need get reports

Describe pls more details about your installation steps.
Which OS do you use? How did you install Reporter, like add-on, like local? Did you install database on SC after reporter installation? Which license do you have? Did you try to delete session and create another one by hands?

OS is SPLAT, i installed smart center and eventia reporter server in the same machine with eval license (R60) . I installed database too but only show me smart center object to install. In the eventia not appear any session, when i try to create a new session show me this error.

Well the scenario is :

I want to generate reports from the another smart center (SC1)... i installed in another machine smart center and eventia reporter server (SC2). in the SC2 made upgrade_import "backup SC1" , then i copied all logs from SC1 to SC2 and i can see all logs in the tracker, and all its ok (i think). when i open eventia reporter there are not any session and i try to create a new session, i click in new session, select the server ip , and in the next step where says customize or default... i click next and show me the error "failed to get default parameters from server/database" or "failed to get logs files list from server/database". I installed in SC1 the eventia reporter too but i can't generate reports by the same error. maybe i have to modify any configuration file or something. thanx for your time.

After installing HFA_03 follow this procedure:
Backup $FWDIR/lib/implied_rules.def.
Rename the implied_rules_HFA.def file to implied_rules.def and make sure that you verify file permissions.
Backup $FWDIR/hash/implied_rules.def.hash.
Rename the implied_rules_HFA.def.hash to implied_rules.def.hashbase_HFA.def.hash to base.def.hash.
Install the Security Policy.

If for some reason an upgrade is currently not possible, the following workaround is available:
Add the following explicit rule at the top of the rulebase:
SOURCE: Any
DESTINATION: Any

I rebuilt Eventiya reporter (R61 on SPLAT) and I get the same failed to get default parameters from server/database error mesage when I try to create new sorce for consolidation. This is clean install.

If you want to stay on the same box try SmartCenter/EVR R65. If you are willing to run reporter on a different box (Recommended BTW) you can just install EVR R65, it would with all NGX (I think it works FP3+ but don't believe my memory).

EVR R63/65 is a very different product under the covers when it comes to SmartCenter integration, and it works a lot better.

EVR is a stand alone box.
SmartCenter has R61 HFA01 version and sthe same box main log server.
So I can go with any version as long as licensing will work and they can talk

Up until R63 the EVR version had to be the same as the SmartCenter. As of R63 that requirement was lifted.

I would recommend using the version on the R65 media kit as it has some fixes rolled into it post R63. Its also downloadable.

sk31283 has six troubleshooting steps to try, one of which is the Install Database thing. If the ER box still does not show up, make sure the ER object has the Log Server box checked.

For unknown for me reason, this box just start working (did not work today on the morning). No changes, no DB installs, no pushes in last 24 hours.
