Default how to upgrade

Hi all.

Does anyone know how to upgrade from SmartView Reporter ( R53 ) to
Eventia Reporter ?

Does anyone experience this ?

I can't find above operations in NGX Upgrade Guide.

What do you mean R53?

I found in release notes for R60 next
"When upgrading a SmartCenter Server with the Eventia Reporter Add-on from R56 to NGX (R60), you must upgrade Eventia Reporter Add-on as well."
So upgrade from R56 to Eventia is possible, I think.

From https://secureknowledge.checkpoint.c....do?id=sk30835 - "There is no direct upgrade path from SmartView Reporter R55 to R56. Custom reports and the data in the reporter database cannot be preserved."
But from R55 to Eventia may be impossible.

In any case check in release notes for NGX section "Eventia Reporter" -> "Installation, Upgrade and Backward Compatibility".
And in this section I found that "Eventia Reporter can be upgraded to NGX (R60) from version NG R56 only. If you are upgrading from a version prior to R56, uninstall the Reporter and continue with the upgrade.Eventia Reporter can be upgraded to NGX (R60) from version NG R56 only. If you are upgrading from a version prior to R56, uninstall the Reporter and continue with the upgrade."

I using SRV FP3. I want to upgrade Eventia Reporter (R60).

Can I upgrade to SVR R56 from SRV FP3 ?

SVR FP3 -> SVR R56 -> Eventia R60

regards.

From SmartViewReporter-R56_ReleaseNotes - you can find document in software download section (SmartView Reporter - NG with Application Intelligence R56)

"Upgrade Paths
SmartView Reporter R56 does not support an upgrade path from previous versions."

Thanks a lot.

I found it :-)

But there is no supported direct upgrade path to Eventia R60.
I want to upgrade to Eventia from SRV FP3.

Do you know that there is SRV FP3's database compatibility with Eventia's database?

Do you have something very special in you old reporter database? The reason that there is no direct upgrade path is that core database migrated from Solid (can run on Windows and Solaris) to MySQL (can run on all platforms). New MySQL based reporter is much better than the old.

Just install new Reporter and import you log files.

Thanks a lot.

There is no special data in my reporter database.

I attempt to upgrade to Eventia from FP3 below operations.

Uninstall SVR FP3
Install Eventia reporter
Import my old data.
---- ( Can I import my old exported FP3 reporter database? )

What do you think about it?

regards.
