Default Endpoint Security install failed
Hi,

I'm trying to install CheckPoint Endpoint Security - VPN Agent Client, v7.0.879.000 or Agent Client, v7.0.879.000, everytime my installation fails and i got error in Event Viewer

Product: Check Point Endpoint Security -- Error 1406.Could not write value Tag to key \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\KLIF. System error . Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I'm local admin of my computer. I have Windows XP Professional with SP3.

Has anyone have idea?

Make sure you are using a version that supports SP3. I've been on vacation so I've lost track of the SP3 status, but I'll bet that's your issue.

SP3 may be an issue.

However the EnpointSecurity_R65_HFA01_Release_Notes.pdf says:

Endpoint Security Clients
The Build number of Endpoint Security Client is 7.0.879

Operating Systems
• Microsoft Windows XP Pro (SP2, SP3)

\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\KLIF is a Kaperskey Labs AV entry. I am sure that it is protected as a security precaution.

I don't know why this occurs. You might set msi verbose logging and try to install again and see if you get more details in that log.

Please use the latest R70 EPS Clients ISO to install.
