Default Endpoint Security (Total) @ 300MB + ?!?!

Am I reading this correctly? The new Endpoint Total Security client package for Windows runs at 300MB +?!

For people that don't use Anti-Virus/Spyware or Encryption, this means that we'll be upgrading from a 8MB SecureClient Package to a 300MB+?!

Is Checkpoint completely out of their mind or am I totally in the left field here?

A standalone SC is still available. There will be a version of Endpoint Connect (Now in Connectra) that will be available for VPN-1.

The 300 MB is well known as an issue and is being worked on. You should know though if all you want is Integrity & VPN, then you do not need to install the rest of the suite and the footprint will be smaller.

300 MB???

That's a disaster. That clearly means the code's not ready yet. Blaise Pascal once ended a letter to a friend by saying, "I would have written you a shorter letter but I didn't have enough time".

They should ship a 512 MB RAM module along with every purchased license.

Is the 300MB the installer size or the memory footprint once installed?

Sheesh.. and I thought Vista was bad.... :P

It's less than 50% of Symantec's 750MB installer

Installer I believe. I'll let you know what I come in at as soon as I'm fully upgraded.
