Default Retrieval of running config (eg, how to recover from ' i have no backup')

Guys,

I'm sure everyone has heard this 100's of times as a support incident:

"My firewalls are running but my management server has died and I have no backup... help..."

Was wondering if there was any possible way of salvaging anything or if anyone has had any joy with this type of scenario before I crack open a new VM and waste potentially days trying.

I guess a decompilation would be necessary to truly recover your config but how you'd go about starting I have no idea (if it'd work).
Anyone fancy a project? :)

Sorry but no you cannot do this, there isn't enough info at the gw end to reconstruct a SmartCenter.

what version are you running, I may be able to recover if we can get a few files from the current install. PM me if you wish.
