| I would say that X Series is very hard compared to Nokia IPSO in terms of configuration. The X Series is a lot more flexible, but instead of just defining the interfaces you have to define the interface, the circuit groups and pathways through the X Series to get to the correct Application Group. Once you have mastered the X Series then I suppose it becomes easy but it takes a lot of getting into and you need to use very regulary. |

| The X series products offer a great deal of redundancy options compared to a single / double Nokia deployment. You really need to read some docs or datasheets on the X series architecture because it would take far too long to explain everything they can offer (personally - i think they are fantastic!) Configuration however can be a bit daunting... >> the web ui is not as useful / user friendly as Voyager with Nokia. >> the architecture is so different to nokia it makes it difficult to directly compare the config, but its more complex (but the results are very cool) >> the cli is similar to many other network products (cough, IOS, cough) with tab completion of commands so if your familiar with devices like this the config shouldn't be too obscure. don't let the complexity put you off, once you get the hang of it the results are very pleasing :) |
