Default Content Filtering

can content filtering be done through user....i mean that particular group of ldap user can browse some website...etc like stuff...if yes then how?....in content inspection tab only exclusion of ip and network r given....the users r not mentioned anywhere....plz help.

Not really - best to use a Proxy system if you need that level of granularity.

From what I see it's quite basic and there are no user settings anywhere. I guess you will something a bit more advanced if you want to be that granular.

The Content filtering in Check Point is quite basic in how it can be applied. However you need to remember that UTM means that it is a jack of all trades so will do multiple features, but only will do the VPN/Firewall really well.

If you need proper granularity for URL filtering then you would need to look at a best of breed solution not a one box does all solution.

So far most of the UTM vendors seem to have one thing that they do really well, which is where they started from and then have the others bolted in.
