Default SMTP on custom port with SMTP Resource problem

Hi, I have a mail server which is listening on the standard port, as well as a alternative custom port for incoming SMTP mail. The purpose of this is so that I can implement two SMTP resources with different settings on the gateway based on what smtp port the client mail application sends mail to.

The resource for the incoming smtp on the standard port works just fine, however there is a problem with my custom port - it works fine when I do not assign any smtp resource to the rule however as soon as I add the smtp resource the port is reported as closed when probed externally. Furthermore, the gateway does not log any activity to incoming data to this port, despite my having tried setting the track option to log and account.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks!

Have you created the second "SMTP" service properly?

These would have been the steps:
- Create new TCP service named say "SMTP2", setting port, color, etc
- Go "Advanced"
- Select "Protocol Type" as "SMTP"
- Tick "Enable for TCP resource"

Now when you "Add With Resource" on a rule, you will be able to select "SMTP2" and then a resource.

Sorry if you already did all this... if not, enjoy ;)
