I am using R55 hf18 and offering smtp servic to external net using an antispam appliance, If I use smtp respurce to avoid external users to map directly to my antispam, ( the reason is for avoid the appliance for showing the smtp banner und post my own via the security server) then, the antisapm stops reciving data from public ip addresses ans recevie only connections from the FW module, I know this is because the security server is a proxy, but is there a configuration to use a security server and mantain original source ip address. Since the basis of a proxy is to translate source address I think this configuration I am thinking is not possible, but what else can I do for replacing smtp banner in the FW for this public service and mantain the orignal sources?

I know this is not the answer you are looking for but, have you tried contacting the anti-spam appliance vendor? It seems really odd that an email security tool doesn't allow you to change the banner. Back to your question, AFAIK you won't be able to do it, since the firewall is proxying the requests.

Well, that was indeed the first answer I give to my client, "The first place yu nedd to enforce your email is your email itself", But as there is anorther option via security servers, he wants to do it in the firewall too.

The SMTP proxy can make the connection to the final server appear as it came from the original client, to do that use the GUIDBEDIT utility to change the property "smtp_transparent_server_connection" value to true and install policy.
