Protocol inspection, how deep the inspection?

Hi folks,

i want to understand which are the rules of the SMTP Protocol Inspection (on a Service -> Advanced TCP Service Properties -> Protocol Type SMTP), because i need to manage a service vulnerability and i want to know if the checks performed by this Protol Agent will block a certain type of attack.

Please don't reply with "RFC compliant analisys". I've already buied the license :)
