The new version of the Connectra software is now available for download from the Checkpoint support site. If anyone finds anything interesting then post and let the community know !

There are two ISOs available - one for the Connectra (LM & CM options), and one for the SmartCentre plugin. The Smartcentre plugin includes HFA-30, and also a new SmartConsole R65.3. I haven't actually installed it yet - will be doing so tomorrow (the joys of corporate change control !). Only thing I've noted so far is that you may have to fiddle with the directory paths for the SmartConsole application, as it includes both R65 and R65.3 versions. Don't think anything is missing

Tried installing the R65.3 into the R65 directory and it totaled my SMARTConsole. Also ensure you have a backup of the SMARTCenter as corrupted mine when installation of the plugin to the SMARTCenter. Thankfully mine was backedup and in the VMWare testing so didn't matter. Just the inconvenience.

Same here: error with pluginCompValidator.exe ...Entry Pointnot Found CPMIBase501.dll i looked in the logfile and it told me: \FW1\R65\fw1\bin\pluginCompValidator.exe ' returned exit code of 128 anybody any idea?

I ended up uninstalling all Check Point and using cpclean to clear out anything Check Point on my laptop. After that the GUI installed Fine. Upgraded the SmartCenter setting the idle timeout to 60 minutes (must remember to read release notes ) first and went fine.

The CM plugin is truely awful - and I echo the comments of the others in ensuring you have a backup beforehand. Looks like there are some updating issues relating to shared library paths, but to be honest it looks fairly fundamental in the way it will happily trash your Smartcentre after a supposed successful installation...
| |||
My theory about shared libraries was correct. Having rebuilt a Smartcentre from scratch, applying NGX-HFA30 first, the plugin installed without issue. It appears that if your Smartcentre was upgraded from a previous version, the plugin installation doesn't work correctly as the shared library paths aren't updated. As an aside, to update your SmartConsole, deinstall the existing one on the client, and then install the new one contained on the R66 plugin CD. This actually contains two versions of the console - when you connect to the updated Smartcentre it uses the R65.3 version automatically.

I can't get this work, maybe I am not doing something right. I built 1 DC windows 2003 and Connectra locally managed gateway. Any documentation that you can share chillyjim? I keep getting 'unknown users'. I didn't want to hijack this thread and started a new thread here. AD integration with R66 Last edited by th0i3; 2008-10-01 at 06:52.

if you run SNMP on your server be sure to stop it!!!! before upgrading also a smart thing to do is extract the iso to the local disk and install from there i tried almost everything before and after doing the above two thing it finally worked!!!
