Default Clients cannot download ICS ActiveX controls

Background:

SmartCenter - NGX R65 HFA_02
Connectra - R62 HFA_01
SIC established between the two for centralized log management purposes

Problem:

After installing the latest SmartDefense updates for Connectra (692071112 / 3.7.191.0) web clients cannot download the latest ICS ActiveX controls. (see attached screenshots)

Anybody ran into something similar?
BTW, I found nothing on Checkpoint's SecureKnowledge.

Make sure your client has full administrator rights otherwise they can't install the activeX plugin. Check their useraccount and rights.

All the common sense settings were checked:
  • local administrator rights
  • no pop-up blocker
  • site added to "Trusted sites"
  • all the IE security settings to allow the download / installation of ActiveX
