We just installed Vista Business to test Connectra and are having an issue or two. I followed the SK article about temporarily resetting secpol.msc to allow the ActiveX install and everything seems to have installed OK. Problem #1: If I right-click IE and do "Run as administrator", SNX auto-launches in network mode and gets an Office Mode address after a few seconds, just like on XP. But nothing seems to be going down via SNX. nslookup shows the correct Office Mode DNS server but an nslookup for an internal server times out. When trying to set up an Outlook profile, it just times out when trying to find Exchange. I can't ping anything that I should be able to. Web applications, like our Intranet, work perfectly. But SharePoint, which requires SNX to work correctly, just times out. ipconfig /all shows the Office Mode settings fine. Problem #2: When running IE as a regular user, SNX auto-launches but hangs forever on "Connecting" Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Security hotfix 5 for Connectra is installed. Thanks, Ray

I found this event in the Vista event log: "The Check Point SSL Network Extender service is marked as an interactive service. However, the system is configured to not allow interactive services. This service may not function properly." and of course, there's no further information available for ID 7030. <sigh> Ray

Hold your horses. There is an HFA on the way that includes support for Vista based SSL Network extender clients. If you speak nicely to your Check Point rep, they may be able to get you onto the EA program to test it. The EA Final build is not yet ready but will be soon. Greg
