Default cluster trouble

What would we be the correct procedure for troubleshooting a cluster of two ip300 boxes running checkpoint R55 on ipso 3.8. Currently only one firewall is working and it must continue to run 24/7. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The procedure will depend on the problem that you are having. What happens when you put the other cluster member into production? To me, the first step on troubleshooting it would be to schedule some downtime so you can troubleshoot it. It's hard to do any modifications or testing in an environment that you can't break.

We have both firewalls in production, but the cluster is not working. Unfortunately we can't take those firewalls down.

You may bring down one 'unusable' firewall in the cluster as the other is running okay. You do not need to bring down both. It will not affects your organization's operations anyway.
