Default Edge X ADSL and R61

Guys,

I have been asked to install an edge X ADSL that is to be managed by our SmartCentre server. I have no real experience of these boxes (tried one when we had R55P but never got it to work) and have a couple of questions that I hope someone can answer for me.

In R61 do you still need to create a profile - I have two Checkpoint documents that seem to contradict each other, one mentions profiles the other doesn't.

With updating the libsw files on the management station (windows) - Checkpoint say to upgrade the libsw in the fw1/fw1_edge_bc directory but I also notice a libsw folder under the fw1 folder, does this folder need to be updated as well or our the files update automatically?

Any advice would be appreciated.

regards

Andy

Profiles are optional as of R61. If you are using LSM to manage 100's of edges then use profiles, otherwise just use edge devices (under check points)

Only needs to be done on the SmartCenter and only in the one directory
