Default Error Pushing policy to VPN-1 Edge ADSL

I am trying to implement a Checkpoint VPN-1 EDGE ADSL box. It has taken two weeks so far to get the box to establish a link with the Mangement station (R55) due to the fact that R55 does not support the hardware and requires an edit to the Object_5_0.c file. I am now trying to push a policy to the Edge device but the policy fails with the following errors

- Unable to downgrade objects for backward compatibility intallation - Aborted'

- Service type group of service FTP is not supported in backward compatibility mode'

Anyone come across these errors before and if so what do they mean as I cannot find anything on the CP support site.

regards

Andy
