I think no. But if you have a lot of rules, so you will have troubles with edge perfomance.

I'm getting an error message in the log on the edge box, saying (more or less) policy install failed. policy too big. I have 8 security rules, and 1 NAT rule.

Any ideas on that one?
THX

There is an "live help" icon on the bottom of the main page on www.sofaware.com This live help icon opens a chat window. The fellows on the other end of the chat window imprese me each time. Looks like this link leads directly to the developers lair. Introduce yourself first as an serious person and you will get all the detail on existing products and short term plans.

P.S. Also you can ask on http://sofaware.infopop.cc/groupee forums.
You can ask this qestion to a support team for free.

I don't sure that SofaWare helpful with Edge. I read that "VPN-1 Edge product support updates is covered under your Check Point EBS (Enterprise Based Support) contract. Please contact the Check Point Enterprise support team for technical support and troubleshooting."
But i don't try to consult with sofaware support. About Edge i usually discussed with CP support.

You can try with sofaware.

The web interface limites you to 30 rules. If you are managing them from a SmartCenter (The only reason to buy Edge over Safe@) or SMP the rule base is effectively unlimited.

Edge is supported by Check Point with R&D backup from SofaWare.

8 rules shouldn't be an issue, the web-ui limit is 30
