Default IS QOS AN ADD-ON?

Is qos an add on module for the utm's or is it included?

It's an add-on - see http://pricelist.checkpoint.com/ for included features in a UTM license or appliance.

If you want QoS then you want the Power Appliances not the UTM-1 appliances, there are some limits with the UTM that you can do when using QoS if I remember correctly.

The biggest limitation is memory - the UTM-1 doesn't have enough to run QoS and the content/messaging security engines. Drop AV/AS and you should be ok, as long as your connection number isn't too high and your QoS policy is well formed and not too complex.

Unless you're aware of anything else which is different?
