Default Help with RHEL R55 to Splat 65

Our company has a RHEL system running Checkpoint R55 HFA 02 with quagga underneath routing eth0 and eth1. We also have eth2 and eth3 configured for other networks ( DMZ etc .. )

eth0 is our internal network
eth1 is connected to an external cisco box to our Internet link
eth2 and eth3 are private internal networks

The hardware and R55 are now EOL so I want to replace the kit.
I have downloaded checkpoint NGX Splat 26 R65.

How does the quagga routing work in this ?
Does it work ?
Will it work ?
Can it work ?

Thanks

Iain

SPLAT is a hardened linux version, you'll have difficulties compiling and using third party software (like quagga) on it. The more important question is what type of routing protocols are you running. An alternative to use quagga would be to use SPLAT Pro which installs a customized GateD package that is integrated with Check Point's software, which gives support to multiple routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP.

As far as I know quagga is installed to install RIP v2 protocol between eth0 and eth1.

This is the ripd.conf file

hostname <hostname>
password <password>
router rip
version 2
network eth0
network eth1
log syslog

Could this be configured with R65 or pro ??

R65 SecurePlatform Pro does support RIP v2. You may want to review the documentation regarding SecurePlatform Pro found here and more specifically chapter 19 in this document.
