Does anyone know what are the differences between the standard SPLAT builds and the appliance editions that we find on UTM boxes? Couldn't find any documentation in the user center

I believe you have to install R65 w/Messaging Security on UTM-1 devices. IE you can't install with the regular R65 cd. At least you can apply HFA 30 on both! Its an interesting question though, since I believed they were marketing it to be the "same" splat version.... __________________ Its all in the documentation.

SPLAT on Appliances has some additional functionality. The main one being able to run Management HA in cluster with HA Gateway and HA Management on a pair of appliances. Other then that no real difference. It is not the same CD as the regular CD though. You need to use the UTM Appliance specific CD to reinstall. There is also the option to restore with the USB key.

That's not quite true - for example, the snapshot command is not the same on the UTM-1 appliance. Also, the location of backups is different. There's a few other little things I've noticed, but I don't think the whole set is documented anywhere. Anything that other people have noticed is different?
