Default SPLAT 2.6 How

Hello,

I downloaded "VPN-1_SPLAT26_R65_CD1.iso" and burned this onto a CD.

I was hoping somehow this would just boot and go through the install process, but not a chance.

Can someone walk me through installing this on a new server with no OS.
I'm also doing this on a Dell 2950. Can't figure out if its a 2950 II or 2950 III but I get an error about not finding disks etc when trying it with SPLAT 2.4 off of the CDs I have.

Thanks

You will get this on a Dell 2950-III because it only supports SPLAT 2.6 kernel.

with the 2.6 SPLAT CD, just insert the CD and all will be good. Did you
set the BIOS to boot from CD first. Furthermore, did you use CTL-A to
setup the disk system on the Dell box?

Thanks cciesec2006.

Yes I did this on the Dell box. I'm thinking I have a bad image.

I'm going to try and download it again. I wasn;t sure if this file was bootable or not. Sounds like it is.

thanks again

The file is an ISO image. Perhaps you burned a "data CD" with one large file in it? Instead you need to "burn image to disc" and use the ISO file as the image.

You'll know if it works when you boot up you will see the initial Check Point prompt screen where you need to hit enter to install.
