| can you add route via "sysconfig" utility? |
| |||
| Hello, Why "route --save"? When I lunch "sysconf" in the bottom of the menu, I have a note explicitly saying "configuration changes are automatically saved". I know the operation should be straight forward, but something is weird. I'll summarize what I'm doing 1- Lunch "sysconf" 2- Select Item 2 (Routing) 3- Select Item1 (Add new network route) - Network IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.0 - Network mask: 255.255.255.0 - Gateway IP address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - Outgoing interface: Interface who is in the same network then the gateway IP address |

If it is straight forward, then we should not even be talking about it right? Something is obviously not right here. Option #1: do what you did with "route --save" after that Option #2: modify the /etc/sysconfig/cpnetstart file |

| Hi, - I do what I did with "route --save". the changes are not saved - I edit the file cpnetstart (size 1193), I add the route, I save and exit. The file size become 1278. - I lunch "route --save", the change is nit applied and the file size come back to 1193 The rights for cpnetstart was 644 owner root:root. I changed it to 666 and I repeat the procedure, the changes are not saved. Thank you, |
