Default HPASM - how much works for you?

Hi All,

After reading;
https://forums.checkpoint.com/forums...essageID=16960
Debian Linux (on HP) - hpasm-7.6.0.111 on x86_64

I've done the following on SecurePlatform Pro VSX NGX R65 Build 269
rpm -ivh hpasm-7.8.0-97.rhel3.i386.rpm
touch /etc/init.d/ipmi
modprobe ipmi_si_drv
modprobe ipmi_poweroff
modprobe ipmi_watchdog
modprobe ipmi_msghandler
modprobe ipmi_devintf
/etc/init.dhpasm configure, and tried to turn everything on. Then
[Expert@eo2kygf02:0]# /etc/init.d/hpasm start

Using high performance hp-OpenIPMI device driver
/opt/hp/hp-OpenIPMI /etc/init.d
hpasmd: Attempting Rebuild of hp-OpenIPMI package
Can not rebuild the hp-OpenIPMI drivers!
See /var/spool/compaq/hpasmd.log for details.
See hp-OpenIPMI(4) and hpasm(4) for options.

hpasm: Server Management is enabled
[Expert@eo2kygf02:0]#

The main problem is that there's no build environment on SPLAT, so it can build the correct modules (and any binary modules arent valid). Is there any way to get more of this running? Or should i log a case with HP?

Cheers,
Adam

Hi,

This is not a HP problem, checkpoint does not support HIM on versions above R62. You have ask for an enhancement request and hope when enough people ask that they finally gonna at the support.
We first asked for it about a year go.
Good luck.

FYI there's an installation guide and support files up at OPSEC: HP. I'll try it out over the next couple of days.
