Default Which Intel to choose ??

Hi there.
I have to get a few new quad PCI-X cards for a new R65 cluster on HP dl360 G5 hardware.

What is the most popular choice ..?
Intel Quad 1000PT
or
Intel Quad 1000GT

Is there even a difference when it comes to linux drivers etc ?

Regards Joel

You need the Pro1000PT cards as the G5 only has PCI-E slots.

The Pro1000GT Quad is a PCI-X card and won't fit.

PCI-E and PCI-X are not the same and aren't compatible.

While the statement of mcnallym is correct, you could make use of a PCI-X Risercard in your Proliant though.

We are using an HP NC340T PCI-X quadport NIC in a Proliant DL380G5 Cluster. This NIC utilizes two Intel 82546GB controllers and works really fine for us:

For a DL360 you probably need a low-profile card like the NC364T (PCI-e) anyways:

FWIW The HP NC364T PCIe 4Pt Gigabit Server Adptr is not supported on SecurePlatform Pro VSX NGX R65 Build 269. Check the compatibility list before you buy.
