I have been gifted a couple Sun X4200-M2 systems and was wanting to run SPLAT R65 on them. However, they are not listed as supported on Checkpoint's web page: Check Point Software: Hardware Compatibility List - I do, however, see several posts where some are running this hardware, apparently successfully. What is the story here? I don't want to move my firewalls to this hardware only to have Checkpoint claim I'm running an unsupported configuration if/when I need to call them. Thanks, Ken

X4200-M2 is certified to run NGx R65 2.6 kernel ONLY. There are several caveats that you should be aware of: 1- Mirror RAID-1 does not work very well, 2- During my test, the box crashed a few times during high load traffics, 3- You need to disable the Nividia NICs in the BIOS or it will cause issues with Checkpoint since these NICs are NOT supported by Checkpoint, 4- Do NOT use SmartCenter SPLAT 2.4 kernel to manage the X4200-M2. I run into an issue where cpd on the X4200-M2 runs at 99% cpu utilization thus broken SIC between the SmartCenter and the X4200-M2. Meplia, our senior member in the group, runs into this same issue as well.

Anybody are you aware of any problem with the Quad Card X4445A PCI-X and Splat 2.5 ( cassini drivers)? Because we installed SecurePlatform 2.6 (2.6.18-22cp SMP) on a Netra X4200 M2. We are using the built-in Intel Gigabit Ethernet ports and ports from a Sun X4445A (Sun Quad GigaSwift Ethernet Card). The problem is that both enforcement modules report all of the configured X4445A ports as being DOWN. "cphaprob -a if" also reports only two interfaces required when it should be six interfaces required. The OS is not reporting any problems with the network cards. When I do a tcpdump on one of the DOWN interfaces, "cphaprob -a if" will report Inbound UP for a couple of seconds and then state the interface is down again.
