Hi, we had a similar issue with Sun X4200 M2's with four quad intel cards in, it worked with 3 cards but not 4. Turned out to be a BIOS bug and all worked fine after we upgraded the BIOS on the X4200's.

is there any way that we can see the hardware issues of the devices in splat. i guess splat should have a way of showing hardware conflicts. cause in the device list it shows the devices properly like it detected. thanks for ur reply. regards sebastan

hi mate found the issue. the intel pro 1000/MT desktop adapter (single port) works smoothly on intel D945GCNL board. but when u try to install 2 of them splat install hangs up. i tried the same with intel board D945GCPE it works fine. i mean with both the nics. i guess there is a BIOS issues on the D945GCNL board.and there are updates to the bios and no support blogs i could get to see to resolve the issue this might be helpful to any of those trying to install splat on intel desktop machines for learning and testing purpose. i feel splat should have the capability of detecting such hardware errors and atleast report some error than just hanging up. hope this helps somebody. regards sebastan
