No different to running SPLAT on a Crossbeam, suprisingly enough as the box is an OEM crossbeam C2 and C6.

At the end of the day it is just SecurePlatform preinstalled so you don't need to worry about is this Hard Disk Controller supported, does this NIC card work.

The only part that worries me is Check Point hardware replacment which last time I used it wasn't great.

However the product itself is fine. It does what it claims to.

It's not a C2/C6, its the same HW supplier but a different system board (much higher MTFB to start with).

Crossbeam is doing the logistics for Check Point.

That's why Crossbeam is doing the logistics and not Dallas TAC :)

have used it in my company datacenter and deployed like 2 so far, no issues on it though... but i think the utm-1 bulid is DIFF from the normal SPLAT, coz the "reset-to-factory" usb key doesnt work on splat..

and as far as i know.. installing the NGX R62/R65 with the option "VPN-1 UTM" from the installation is still not the same...

where hw specs are concerned, the UTM-1 has higher specs than the normal crossbeam c2/c6... its cpu is higher and has the max ram for the unit (c2-1gb, c6-2gb)

Hi Abusharif,
Have you or anyone else experienced this before?

One of my resellers actually complained that the speed/duplex settings are not persistant across reboots, and i have tried that on my demo machine and it is the same as well!

A bug?
You can set it in the web gui and it will take effect, but it is gone after a reboot. Have tried to use the ethtool as well. There is an sk for this issue though.. "sk33090 Problems with UTM-1 models 1050 and 2050 when connected to certain models of Cisco and Dell switches"

have tried to install the hotfixes and it still doesn't work! can anyone see if they have the same issue???

I do know that the same driver issue mentioned happened on crossbeam, but thats for a hang issue, not on the speed/duplex issues, the sk98lin drivers are the same though. COS v5.1.1 and v6.0.0 had the driver issue, was subsequently resolve in v6.0.0.2 onwards..

faulty: sk98lin: Network Device Driver v8.31.2.3
working: sk98lin: Network Device Driver v8.44.1.2 (beta)
