Default Q: When a interface is down, the routes are dropped?

When i use a command ifdown in a interface, the routes are dropped? Even if its stored on a file?

If the question answer is yes, i have to reload the routes file?

Yes, you lose the routes associated with the interface when you do an ifdown. Performing an ifup will not bring the routes back, so they must be reloaded manually.

Yes. It may be possible to have the route come back after a reboot--but I am unsure. It was a long time ago that I did this testing.
